A Viable Candidate - A Better RepresentativeTechnology Experience and Education Huntsville and other District Five cities thrive on technology. Whether Redstone, NASA, Research Park, TVA, or Marshall Space Flight Center, they all use advanced technology as their foundation. I'm a UAH graduate earning a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Administration in Management Information Systems. I have worked in Information technology for over twenty-six years, including ten years at Intergraph and sixteen years at Huntsville Hospital. I have the knowledge and experience to serve on the Space, Science, and Technology Committee in the House of Representatives and would be a tremendous asset for the fifth district. Healthcare Experience I have worked for Huntsville Hospital for over sixteen years. I understand the needs of healthcare facilities including the need for high reimbursments. I have the knowledge for examining legislation related to healthcare, Medicare, and Medicaid. I will stand up for the hospitals of Alabama and support legislation that will benefit the patients of healthcare institutions. Counseling Experience and Training I have a Master's degree in Biblical Counseling. I'm trained to solve disputes by carefully listening to all sides and leading people to a peaceful solution. When gridlock occurs in Washington, I will not contribute to the confusion. Instead, I will use my counselor experience to determine the best course of action. I can and will build a consensus and work across party aisles to keep jobs and expand employment throughout the Fifth District. Ministerial Experience and Training I'm an ordained minister and have served in ministry for over twelve years. As a part of my training I've been taught to be temperate--to think before I speak. I will not say things that would bring a negative image on the State of Alabama. Also in my service as a minister, I've had to assist many people across the political and economic spectrum. I've learned to see people not as members of political parties, but as fathers, mothers, employees, business owners, and students. This gives me a unique perspective as a political leader.
